it is cold in calgary and i need to fix backfires
and stalling for jan 2 ,may have new job with
shaw and car needs to run good to make some good money for great rebuild
I have already ajusted the carb in and out all over the place runs fine at high revs, but i cant drive at 3500r or higher all the time
has new ngk plugs, wires seem to be fine
new air filter oil is less than 40 days old
haven't checked the points yet .
HELP PLEASE HAVE ANSWERS IN BY NOON
GOING TO FIX IT IN THE WARMER PART OF CALGARY'S

Sounds like a timing/ignition problem to me too. Check all wires, distributor cap, rotor, and plugs too for problems. Then adjust or check carb.

It sounds like your timing might need to be advanced a bit. If you advance it, your idle will go up. Adjust the carb afterward.

thanks, guys for the info car was just in need of some ajustments, the points were closed constantly, advanced the timming a bit and teaked the carb and regapped the plugs she
runs like a top.
