can the oil pump drive gear on the cam shaft be replaced without replacing the shaft, very hard to find a good cam shaft with good gear.
can the gear be bought on its own.

The cam gear and the oil pump drive gear have to be in 'sync' If the oilpump drive gear had wear it won't 'ride' right on the new cam. It happens alot where someone gets a new cam and doesn't replace the drive gear or worn followers and winds up with a mess.
