well, after all the work and money i have invested in my 83 civic(not to mention the $330 i just spent on a new head gasket). My oil pump locked up, tore the grears off the cam and spun a rod bearing. I am sure some of you should know about this, the guy that did my head gasket said honda's are bad for this. seems i really just dug a hole with this car. So much for trying to make a 2low2go wagon. Well, on the ok side i do know where a 83 accord is for $500, just needs a new master cylinder. So i am going to pick that up this afternoon, honda wants $204 for the master cylinder, lol, looks like i am going autozone. well until i can get the money for a new engine looks like its r.i.p. for the civic, i don't think i have the will to let it go, i have just invested tooo much into it. I hope the accord will serve me well, and thanks for all the help/inspiration you guys have been. are there any accord boards around??

-Jeff

It seems like there is a lot of that going around! I just blew another head gasket on my 79 Civic, with a EK1. I pulled the head and I noticed some scoring in the #2 bore... after studying it a little closer, I noticed a pin hole in the cylinder wall. I haven't popped the pistons out yet but it looks like I broke a ring. :(
OH well, Time to build another engine!
Hey Oblivion, I think your gonna like the Accord. It's like the Mercedes of Hondas! Not as nimble but very comfortable.

I also blew a head gasket after spending a lot of time and money. It is being sold this week. I bought another with a strong EB3. No more swaps, just pure resto's

Sorry to hear that, but at least there's another Accord owner on here now. I don't know of any message boards devoted exclusively to them. Maybe whoever runs this message board could create a seperate section??

Take the motor out of the Accord & put it in your Civic!

lol, thats what everybody keeps telling me to do. But I mean the accord is really in better condition than the civic, nicer seats, a/c, 2 door hatch, independent rear supention(NOT LEAF SPRINGS!!!). I could however stick my weber on it, Couldn't i?? or is that hard to do and keep the a/c, doesn't it need some of those 1000s of vacume lines?? well bout to go make this thing stop, hopefully.

My accord had A/C and I beleive only one vacuum hose, at least on mine, was for a/c and it made the idle go up so the extra load from the a/c would not kill it on idle. I put a weber on mine but tore the shoddy a/c off the car.
