I'm hoping to buy a 1st-gen 1200 sometime this year. I have an ill-planned Triumph restoration project to get out of my garage first. My question is that I know where to find salvage parts, but how easy is it to find items like window and door seals, gaskets, hoses, belts, etc.? Can you still get these items from Honda or parts stores? OEM or repro? Any insight would be good.

Most small and common parts like brakes, ignition and such are available at parts stores.
All parts are still available at your Honda dealer, though most are not in stock, they are usually there within a matter of days (this is in Holland and I bet about everywhere else). Being into Triumph, do you ever come across parts for an Acclaim?? Here there is no such thing as a Triumph dealer..

If you're looking for salvage parts, it depends where you live. I live near DC now where every other car is a BMW. I haven't seen older hondas here in salvage yards, but when I lived in CA, there were plenty.
If you happended to live in a place with personality, there probably are a few old hondas in the yard.

Nikolaj- You're right. there's no such thing as a Triumph dealer. They stopped making and selling cars in 1980, but there is a lot of specialty companies that sell almost every part you'd ever need. I have heard of an Acclaim, but i've never seen parts for one. If it is based on one of the other more popular cars, like the Herald or Vitesse, a lot of the parts might be the same. As for 1st.-gen civics, I have seen lots of them around here in Oklahoma, from salvage to backyards. By the way, heres a good Okie joke. You know your an Okie if you mow around your trailer and find three cars you didn't know you had!
