I'm sure the swap would be rather straight forward but there is some questions I hope you guys could help me with.

This car was hit directly in the front and as far as I can tell the motor for the most part looks fine. The manual transmission broke off of the motor except for the last mounting boss took part of the bell from the block from about mid-serial# to the bottom of the bell. I don't think the block has been compromised otherwise. I have access to a tig welder and was wonder if it could be welded back on without warpage issues?

Also the tranny is obviously toast so can I use my original one. I can also get one from a '86 Civic wagovan thing, would that bolt up?

Thanks so much for the help you all have given me!

No.Your original(80 Accord) tranny will not bolt up.No.The 86 Civic tranny will not bolt up.I don't think that's a "straight forward swap" The A20A3 PGM-FI will fit but not without lots of mount, suspension and electrical mods.

50$ for the whole car is a pretty good deal I thought though. I plan to cut the front off of another accord I have and using it as a test fit and then moving everything to the one I'm driving. I'm working on the assumption that the outer diameter of the wheel bearings is the same on the Lx-i as my accord then I can just put some in my '80 knuckle and mount the LX-i hub in them. This is what I did to get 4x100 from a '81 prelude with '85 accord calipers and rotors.

I know that the computer and wiring is going to be a bear but it would be a lot of fun!

The engine doesn't bolt up at the same places, and you'll have to get custom axles made. The A20 will only go directly into an '84-'85 Honda Accord.

It'll definitely fit but it'll be a project...You can swap the 4x100 spindles off of a later model Accord (or any Honda) and larger brakes will fit on these, you can also use the 2nd gen. Prelude rear discs.
