I WAS AT THE WRECKERS AND I WAS BORD AND SCREWING
AROUND WITH DIFFERENT IDEAS. THERE WAS A 86CHEVY
SPRINT BY A 78 CIVIC IN THE YARD. LOOKING AT THE
MOULDED BUMPERS ON THE SPRINT AND THOUGHT THOSE
WOULD LOOK PRETTY GOOD ON A CIVIC, THE FRONT BUMPER FIT! WITH EASE AND WENT RIGHT INTO THE FACTORY HOLES. YOU WIIL HAVE TO CUT THE WHEEL WELL SIDES OF THE FASCIA BUT IF CAN DO IT ANY ONE CAN. THE BACK WILL NEED SOME MODS
HAVE NOT FIG. OUT YET. AND DON'T BUY THE SIGNAL
LENS BECAUSE THE 78 OEM LENS AND HOUSING FIT AS WELL.

This is something I have been think of doing for a while now.
So did you buy the bumpers or just try them on at the wreckers?
Did you use the front bumper shocks off the sprint?
What wrecker did use I live in calgary also.

Are you going to cut your fenders or try and alter the bumper? What kind of mods will be needed for the rear?
Thanks
Tom

Yes I am excited and, no I don't think I will cut
the fender. I think the bumper looks good sitting on the outside but, time will only tell
what will be done. I know that it I want to add an airdame to the front fascia. the back is going to
be purcased next pay day so i will let everyone know how it goes. It does look kind of like an old VW GTI with newer Jetta bumpers on it.

I just happened to drive by a body shop the other day where I saw a first gen whith a 1988 civic rear bumper and cover on it. The body man said he had to cut it in half and narrow it. It looked good but seemed like alot of work. Quite frankly I realy like the look with no bumpers at all... smoooooooth.
