Hi All,

I have recently been inundated with queries about LSDs. As I have said in the past I don't have too much time for Racecraft any more but as a last hurrah I will try and order a batch of LSDs. I cannot just get one or two so I need a list of confirmed people for a last diff run. If we can get 5 people you can have your diffs and they will be cheaper than the usual $1600AUS. I still love the old civics and will be happy to answer any questions and if you are lucky I will have some parts lying about. But I am afraid I dont have time or a machinist anymore to make a non standard part like the big brakes.

I will at some stage issue a parts and modification list that you can use to make up the big brake kit if you want out of GM and mitsubishi bits.

Charles

Are you sure you can still get them? As far as I was aware the people who made them stopped making them after they got bought out.

I just got the last LSD that was supposedly advertised by Racecraft. The diff is in my car now and I am waiting for a break in the weather to test it. Tomorrow looks like a possible. Some of you may know I have two first generation racecars, one with a mugen LSD and this latest diff. Even tho racecraft advertised them, they were made or rather comissioned to be made by Mark Moddejongen who races a first generation rally car in the Brisbane area and is a stand up guy. Oscar Jackson says he will order a half dozen to keep on his shelves for us Yanks if the diff. turns out to be a good one. I have little doubt that it will be a superior differential but I've been waiting until I could speak from experience and be able to make an informed hands on judgement. Mark is awaiting the test as he is interested in having more of them made for sale to any and all who may want them. My diff cost me approximately $950 US dollars and that included Air Freight! No where else on earth will anyone be able to do better.

If any of you want to see photos of the diff and also see photos of the internals of the Quaife (pronounced quaa fee) then email me direct at PJJ@lobo.net and I'll send them off to the one person who knows how to post pictures on the board. Incidently Mark is looking for the deluxe guage set that Don Foreman describes as fitted to the CVCC model. Anyone want to help Mark out on this one? then email him at: Mining_Dynamics@onaustralia.com.au

I will post my results as soon as I know them.

He you guys, try a Phantom Grip diff, they will take your old diff and convert it to lsd for around $199(at least thats how it is for my 1980 5-speed)

Where do you get it and, for that price, does it actually work??

PJ did get the Quaife style lsd in his car and LOVES IT! Mark mining_Dynamics@onaustralia.com.au is wanting to get a new run made, but I hope he waits a few months so I can afford two if at all possible. PJ has a big letter to post but I think its too large of a file or something.
