I was watching tv last night and turned over to watch a film called "My Stepmothers An Alien",with Dan Akkroid in it driving around an old white civic 1200.Just proves its a classy enough car to be used by hollywood!

How about the scene in one of the Police Academy movies where Mahoni is teaching the big guy how to drive!?! That was funny, rip out the front seats and sit in the back . . .

I was watching an old Columbo (Maybe it was Matlock?)and saw a CVCC with mag wheels, custom stripes, fuzzy steering wheel and interior. It was absolutely hideous. It was white with brown and tan stripes and a tan interior. The wheels were slot mags. It was ugly, but someone back then cared enough to customise it.

Just had to say , "Mcflywheel" is a great handle.
Oh yeah, as far as Pulp Fiction goes, damn near everyone got trashed in one way or another...it's amazeing, but every once in a while I run into someone who could definitely benefit from watching that movie once, twice, or everyday until they finally "get it", if you know what I mean. Best lesson i've ever seen on the true meaning of Karma.

John, not quite sure what you are on about, as i remember, in that film, Butch(Bruce Willis) nearly got 'befriended' by another man.All that movie teaches you is to watch your back, and never bend down near a YMCA convention :)

It also teaches one that you never know who's got a Colt45 under their T shirt... a very valuable thing for us all to be aware of nowadays.

Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor movie, I think it was See no evil, Hear no evil. I saw a little yellow 1st gen. in a foot chase scene thru a used car parking lot. It was only a split second but I saw it.

In the original Terminator movie, Reese and Sara are hiding out in a parking garage. As the Terminator is driving thru looking for them, there's a blue 1st gen. Civic parked near them.
By the way, Sara Conner kicks ass!

O.K. Guys, Ya wanna see a bunch of cvcc's and 1200's, start watching old re-runs of CHiPS. They are all over in every episode. I once even noticed in the background, on of honda's big, big,big freighters used to deliver the cars to the states. Also, in the movie" quicksilver" you remember, with Kevin Bacon as a in-town bicycle courier. Anyway, he cycled past a 78-79 civic 1200. also ,i forgot the name of this movie but, i saw someone break into a civic in a parking lot to obtain evidence ofr a investigation. Also, and this one kills me the most, but in another movie i saw Robin Williams drive one that was camo shaded with scateboard wheels { heavy offset} anyway thats what i remember.
P.S. Dont forget, it's also great when driving our cars to have someone pull you over to give the comment "Man , I had one of those and i never could kill that thing" or "Hey, my uncle had one" or "What year is that " or "That's a honda? How old is it?". It's great owning vintage honda's, right?!

Hey tedshred, you would be surprized at how you begin to "spot" these little buggers once youv'e got the sickness! Just wait, one of these days you'll be kicking back 'chillin watching TV... then all of a sudden you will see one flash on the screen for about a 10th of a second, you will stand up and shout "I saw one, I saw one" your family will look at you like you are nuts, "no really, I really saw one"... just wait you'll see.

There is a Jackie Chan movie that stars a Honda City turbo. Not sure which one it is, but there is some pretty hellish driving in it.

I'll be driving around town when I spot one (or a mini cooper) and practically crash from keeping it in view. I'm not safe to drive with anymore.

Recently in the news there was a story about some kids that were trying to get on MTV and attempted to jump over a moving car. Well it was a first generation civic, needless to say someone is probably picking parts off of it in the junk yard right now. The horror.

Last night on HBO, the movie 'The Goodbye Girl' (staring Richard Dryfus) I spotted a red 1st gen civic. His [Rich] girlfriend worked at a Japanese motor show, and there it was...a brand new one rotating on a platform. Must have been a good 5 second shot.

Worth looking at!

Have you seen that movie 'Christine'
(Stephen King-movie) about the 1958 red Plymouth Fury that kills people. There is a yellow civic at a store just before the gas station explosion scene.

Yeah, Justin that is the same Video I posted about a couple posts ago. I just stated the name of the song wrong. But yeah. when you look past the wheels... it looks pretty nice doesn't it? I am a big fan of the shaved bumpers. My '79 will be the same.

Maybe we dont need that kind of publicity. Remember being a Civic Freak and spending all your time at the wreckers, when you should be doing things like eating and cleaning,or in my case fixing my shower, does not make us bad people. Its a disease :) "Civics Anonymous"

H.C.A .. honda civics anonymous ... the 12 steps

1.... we admitted we were powerless over civics, that our lives had become unmanageable ..
2... came to believe that a part greater than our current one would restore us to sanity ...
3... turned our spare time and our motivation over to a honda greater than our dreams
4... made a searching and fearless world wide quest for inventory
5.... admitted to the board and to ourselves the exact nature of a 1200
6.... were entirely ready to remove all defects and rust.
7.... humbly asked the board to inform us of better methods
8.... made a list of all hondas we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all..
9 ... made direct amends wherever possible, except when to do so would dismantle a perfectly good civic or our own sanity..
10 .. continued to swoon over every civic, and when we were envious, promptly admitted it.
11....sought through prayer and determination to improve our connections to various sources for parts, hoping only for bits and pieces and the power of UPS to deliver...
12... having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we continue to share all our information with other civic nutbars and practice this obsession in every spare moment we can muster.
