What wheels will fit on a Civic 1200 apart from the Accord's?

Early Mazda 1800 (sort of looks like a bigger Capella). These are 14 inch steelies but look cool as they fill the guards much better.

If you do the 4x100 conversion..u can get up to 17" to fit. just use 195-40-17 euro T/A's It looks awesome!!

I know a guy who took some heavy 17" steel wheels and used a drill to lengthen the holes so that they would fit his civic. I wouldn't recommend doing this though. His engine was only stock and he couldn't get the car to go over 80km/hr (50m/hr).

What I'm really after is a set of mags. Also, they must be 4x120 as I don't plan to do a hub conversion at this time.

You can use a set of alloys from an early model Toyoto Celica. The bolt pattern is not quite the same, but you can use offset lug nuts to make up the difference. They look pretty good and are plentiful and cheap.

Early Screwbaru were 120mm-4 lug also...they made a factory steel wagon spoke wheel (used on their
4-wheel dr. models) also...might be kind of heavy though.
Also I personally like the 100mm/4lug factory alloys that came standard on Audi 4000...I'm using them on my 82 4-dr Civic Sedan...they are 13x5.5"...look trick...and fairly cheap. They also offered a 14x5.5 alloy which looked almost identical on the Audi Coupe...more rare though.
One other choice is the 13x5" Opel Manta styled steel wheels aka Opel GT, they look nice with fresh paint, and are very strong...also were available in 5.5" width for a couple years...might be kind of heavy though...still, must do the bolt pattern conv. for any of these .

A friend of mine as 8 bolt truck rims on his 4x120mm VW Type 3. They are heavy, but very easy to find, and can go as big and wide as you want. I'm not sure if using them is legal though.

Fisrt of all, I don't understand how a conversion to a popular 4-100 bolt pattern is possible without changing the entire suspension. Is it done with "spacers" somehow??
I am also looking for mags, 14 inch, but everyone shakes their head as I ask for the 4-120 bolt pattern. In the US you can custom order wheels at any pattern, but the money...
I have seen 14 and 13 inch panasport wheels on these civics (looks like mini coopers), but no importer of so called sports accesoiries can get them for me!!!
Holland sucks when you wanna be different!

It does involve spacers in a way ...
At the front it involves a change of hub, caliper (with a special bracket), disc and CV joint. The rear gets different drums and backing plates, a little machining and a special collar, but still pretty easy.

Do the Panasport wheels have the 120pcd needed for a stock Civic?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By 2LOW2GO on Friday, November 19, 1999 - 11:51 am:

i have done three conversions on first gen. civics mine is almost the same as the Civicguru but in the rear i use the drum and re-drill it and press in new studs (also replace the bearings and seals) and dan the panasport wheels are a 4x120 (look at my convertible civic) seeya...

Have a set of 13 inch alloys with 4 X 120 pattern. In good condition, very light. Similar to Rally motorsport rims (OZ Racing) but with longer spoked section. $200AUS for the set.

Charles,

Do you have any pictures of these wheels? Also, what is very light? 3kg?

Dan

I have a 1976 Honda with 12 inch Tridents running factory Spacers. These are the only acceptable ones here in New Zealand as any other non Factory spec changes require Certification.
The front is 205/60/12 and the rear is 215/60/12 with flared guards
