I have always been a car guy, so when I stumbled across a build
of another silver 1978 Civic I instantly fell in love. It wasn’t long
before I found my own in California and initiated what became a
true love affair for early Honda’s. Unless you drive one you just
won’t get why these cars are so special and were ahead of their
time. I have owned this car for 3 years and have spent many long
hours in search of rare parts for this car. There are too many items
to list them all but here is a short list:
• OEM Wagon front brakes and spindles
• OEM Leather Steering Wheel
• Aftermarket Center Console
• OEM JDM Fender Mirrors
• OEM Power Windows
• OEM Rear Tonneau Cover
• OEM JDM RS Fog Lights
• OEM Rear Fog Light
• OEM 8 track Player
• OEM Rear Wiper
• OEM Dash Clock
• Dash RS emblem
• OEM Sport Rack
• OEM Side Stripes
• OEM Running Lights
• OEM Picnic Set
• JDM Air Purifier
• OEM Rear Stereo Remote
• OEM Back-up alarm
• OEM Umbrella with 5-speed Knob
• Aftermarket Rear Window Louvers
My goal for this car is to build something that could have existed in the early 80s given what kind of parts were available.
Currently the original 1500 CVCC engine propels the car but, future changes include building a NOS 1979 Accord EK1
NOS short block with Canadian EL (non CVCC) head; topped off with Colt camshaft, dual side draft 40 DCOE Weber carburetor, and
a custom stainless header that King Motorsports assures me they can fabricate. All attached to a 5-speed transmission
modified with a limited slip differential thanks to www.civicgarage.com
