Hi All,
Picked up this '76 CVCC Hondamatic about a year ago here in OR, to supplement the '77 1200 5spd. I heard it run, albeit with carburetor cleaner, and the body was very clean. Almost no rust.
It had been repainted a horrible brown, and not very well. Towed it home, and began tearing down.
After getting her home:
The Interior is in good condition:
Starting the long sanding process:
Just stripping the brown off to the stock paint, although in some places I get down to the metal. Going to Epoxy primer first, so no problem.
Getting ready to pull engine. Also terribly painted. Going back to stock grey.
Got these wheels in the deal. 4x120. Found out from the forum that they were a dealer option in the 70's, made in UK. Plan to have them repaired and powdercoated.
Engine lift that I fit in the back of a Honda Fit.
Engine Free! Note the Spiderman colors. :P
Hopefully these labels make putting it back together easier.
Yet more sanding:
Interior
Engine bay needing to be torn down more
Original brown is still in the underside of the hood. Cleaned it up, and still have to rough up with scotch brite.
More interior:
Doors and Fenders off:
Engine bay stripped, (mostly)
Scraping off the undercoating, except for inside the wheel well to paint.
Yet more undercoating in the engine bay...WHY?!
Hand-sanding the last bit of the roof
So many different colors!
Well that is where she stands as of now. Hope to have it Epoxy'd and Surfaced in the next few weeks, still a lot to do.
