I sold my EN4 intake assembly to Fraser (frazzlerock), and no sooner had the money arrived in my PayPal account, than I went on a spree... I can't help wondering, is 720CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) going to be enough with 12:1 compression?

If you buy an AGM battery like the Optima Deep Cycle batteries, you need a decent charger to take care of your investment. I bought this one from Australian company Projecta. It's a 7 stage charger.

I bought a 'new' Ka today. It's not a Honda, but I love it anyway. No sooner had I got it home, than I ordered Lexus-style rear lights to make it look more current. Now I can work on the Civic at my own pace...

...one last thing, I just looked under the hood, and this thing was made in Germany!!! I even checked on Car Sales and the info also shows Australian delivered models as being German built. The name of the city where it was built is about 20 letters long! It must have been a left hand drive thing. Lucky us.

My wife had a KA when i first met her. The kids on the street used to call it an "easter egg on wheels" :D I never liked the fact it has no temp gauge. If it ever starts cutting out as you aproach a junction, take the AFM off and clean it, common fault on these

I've finally finished the valve cover too. Took well over 100 hours, so I can see how $1000 to have someone polish and chrome it is an absolute bargain (provided they did a perfect job). It's taken ages to get through the impurities in the outer skin of the valve cover. Getting it to go smooth has been difficult too. I've had to polish and re-sand the whole thing a few times before I could get a uniform finish. Put simply, it's been a HUGE challenge, but worth it in the end, because it's really satisfying to look at something that looks so good, and to know you put in 100% without cutting corners. Apart from having to clean up afterwards, I really enjoyed the process. I may polish a water pump over the summer, but for now I'll fit a painted one.

Anyway, they rang me last week and said no more extensions, so the car is getting picked up on Tues morn. I convinced the paint shop they needed a web presence, so I'm building them a website as a part payment towards a full paint job. I decided the only way to get perfect paint is to paint the whole car, top and bottom in one hit, so there doing that. They know it's going to be a show car, so it needs to be block sanded, colour sanded, the whole bit. It's costing $5000 which is a lot, but that's what you have to pay for a good paint job (and that's cheap!), and well over double that for a bare metal, show paint job... now the problem is, I keep thinking metallic orange. I know it's extra work, but the interior is immaculate, so prep-work would be minimal, and the interior is already stripped, as in no seats and carpet. But, as I've said before, I love the metallic blue, so maybe I'm just covering the same ground again... OK, I'll stick with blue... maybe... :P
