The bottom rear-most portion of my front passenger fender is starting to deteriorate. The PO (and original owner) installed some lower rocker guards and dirt/mud was trapped between the front mud flap and this piece of trim. After 30 years...the moisture took its toll.
How hard is is to replace the fender panel or is it easier to cut and bend new metal for this area?

Re: Front passenger side fender rust
That area of the fender should be relatively easy to repair if you have a mig or flux core welder. I think without looking there a 3 bends tappers to the bottom and then folds 1/8 on the leading and trailing edge. The 1/8 folds I would do first on 22guage and shape the outline from a masking tape pattern off the area.
Cut it out and make the bends, then mig, flux or oxy fusion weld. Then grind and smile a nice little job completed.

Re: Front passenger side fender rust
The Fenders or "wings" are bolt on so relatively easy to replace if you can find spares, I am in the same position as both of my front wings are rusty and need replacing but I cant find any suppliers of new ones. I am trying to do my best with the ones I have..
