I ran the 75 pistons on a 1597cc accord motor and never had trouble on pump gas. The only difference is that I was running a Weber and I know it was jetted a bit rich. I remember that I was running a camshaft, but I can't remember which one I had in there , it was a long time ago. It made a great commuter on the Fwy and was absolutely reliable and decent mileage. Enough to driving it to work 65 miles away.
After I sold it, as long as I knew the guy he never had an issue with it, and he really drove it hard!
I can't recall the CR but I would guess around 9.5:1.

The bump in compression with the change from dish to flat pistons on a standard bore won't bump it too much. Bill's guess of 9.5 may even be alittle high since most EL engines started with 8.0/8.2 compression ratios.

Your head will make the most difference.

So what head?

Have you had the combustion chambers measured?

Sorry, don't know! It's something that can vary from head to head depending on whether the head was shaved and how much.

Spent the afternoon sanding and scraping trying to determine the extent of my newly found rust. Looks like some more cutting and welding in the right front rail's future before fresh paint can be applied to the engine bay. :)

The weekend was perfect weather for undercoating a bunch of parts and the rails where the rear crossmember attaches. :)

Things have come to a crawl ... Still waiting on the powertrain, and getting the engine bay prepped for paint. Finished coating the area that the rear crossmember hides. Taking a break as everything dries. :)

Nice work Bob. It looks like there was/is a bit of rust to cut out there. Nothing worse than finding cancer.
