Wow, it that a new fan Bob? It looks great. Hey, have you got a new label, as I plan on doing all the decal sets shortly. I've already done a test print and they look awesome. I've used pigment inks with extremely low light fade characteristics, and I'm putting a layer of clear vinyl over the top to fully protect the finish from oil etc.

Steph, I don't have a new label - look forward to see what you come up with. 8)Steph wrote:Wow, it that a new fan Bob? It looks great. If you go back a page or two, you'll see what the radiator, fan & AC compressor looked like before I began refinishing them.

As long as they're sealed with a clear laminate they'll be OK, but the problem is dye-based inks are used on most standard inkjet printers, and they fade fast, even in the dark, whereas pigment based inks are archival quality. The ones I'll print a batch of will be pigment based and cut precisely (contour cut) on my vinyl cutter to look exactly like the original (probably better). Again, thanks go out to Stephan for translating my photos and measurements into printable vector graphics, plus one (or two?) European decals he created as well. I should also mention Richard did a great job on the quality control "OK HONDA" decal that goes inside the rear side window.

I do have your the files. I'd like to see what Steph comes up with. Given a choice, I'd rather support you or Steph than the local print shop. I have an ink jet printer and the ink is not very good for this application. What are your thoughts?koosjer55 wrote:Looks good Bob! I thought I gave you the files to make the new labels/ decals :dunno

It seems each step forward creates a small step back. The paint around the radiator screw holes was chipped by my over zealous tightening. So, more respray and touch up will be needed.
