Not sure if the nicks near the bottom of the trans axle seal were the cause of my leaks but I gently tapped the metal down and smooth out the area.
At the two o'clock position were some small nicks too. I installed the seal with a little bit of black silicone.
I'll check it out tomorrow and if all looks good put the drive axle back in.

A few more steps forward and a couple back.
On the plus side, after a three plus year search,
I finally have a working overhead console.
It came from an ex forum member in Canada via Justin.
Justin was kind enough to swap out the miles counter for something a bit more useful.
Big thanks to Justin for his help. :D
Had to make a bracket to install it.
On the downside, the AC isn't working yet.
There's something going on with the fuel delivery.
When the fuel level gets to about an eighth full,
the fuel pump goes bonkers trying to suck up fuel &
the car loses power and wants to stall out.
I'm thinking the bladder (Por 15) I used might be gunking up the fuel strainer screen and not letting the fuel flow out of the tank.
When I blow compressed air into the fuel line to the tank, it clears right out and runs fine.
What's the recommended course of action to remedy this?

I would start by back flushing the lines to make sure you don't just have some junk floating around. Beyond that make sure there are no spots on the hoses that are loose or leaky... then pull the tank and check it out. Save the tank for last of course but on these cars at least its not a 22 gallon truck tank! good luck, keep us posted!.

Try running with the gas tap loosely refitted, to destroy the vacuum that forms in these tanks.
It is an effect of the vapor control circuitry, I believe.
Do you get a ''woosh'' when you open th etank?
If so, it is usually air rushing IN not OOUT, smell of fuel is rare as the air has gone in.
I've had this on 1st and 2ndgen models in the past.
I'm yet to fully cure it as it can come and go.
Other ideas, anyone?

There's not a noticeable vacuum release when the gas cap is loosened.
I noticed after about 20 miles of driving, the car started to buck and wanted to stall.
I feathered the gas pedal and kept it from a complete stall.
The loss of power is a scary thing to experience on the hwy.
This happened on the highway and also on a local road.
I ran the car hard in 3rd pushing the revs to 4k-5k range attempting to provoke a reaction a local road.
I succeeded in getting it to buck and wanting to stall for about a mile or so.
I'll have to run the gas down a bit more before I attempt to look at the gas tank.
I'll have to make time to back flush the lines.
I have 2 fuel filters, one below the rear seat and one in the engine bay.
Both have less than 200 miles on them.
Still open to suggestions

Sounds like you're losing fuel under load. Next time your tank gets low, try the compressed air down the line and drain the tank. See if you have any crud come out. Did you seal over the drain plug when you did the POR-15 in the tank?
Another thing could be a weak fuel pump, but you changed that recently, right?
