Last night I re-dyed my gauge housing with my SEM. Man I love that stuff.
Got the glass back from the glass shop today. I like doing most things myself but for $16 I let them handle this job. After a few cut fingers,
I got them put back together and they look absolutely fantastic! Putting the rubber back on the glass was a bit tricky.
The glass looks so much better than that old scratched plastic. I read there were some safety concerns with using glass for the gauges but
I'm not concerned. If I crash hard enough to break them, then I probably got bigger problems than a little broken glass.
Not sure why Honda chose glass for the center gauges and not these two, maybe safety was the concern. As you can see - out of my stash
of gauges, I chose to go with the "simple" speedometer with just the MPH on it. I like how clean it looks compared to the ones marked with
KM/MPH together. It's not original to the car, but at this stage of the game, I think I am throwing that out the window. Does it really matter?
Besides, I haven't put any miles on the car yet so I can just start from here. Now, Just can't wait until my aluminum gauge rings arrive from
over seas. That is really going to set this off! Now to wire up the tachometer. and put these babies in!
Here is the stash I was working with. This turned from project to obsession in a hurry!
