- Pic of the car underneath. This whole part took a lot of time. First welded a lot under the car (lot of rust!), cleaned and Owatrol-ed it. Anti gravel makes it all look tidy.

- Bottom right of the wheel arch has to be checked, but I think I'll let the painter do the filler bits..I'm bad with filler.

- It's back on its feet again! Also lots of cleaning and so called Owatrol (anti rust).

- Made the wiper motor fit the tailgate. The motor was in the same box as all the rest of the rear wiper pieces, but it isn't the exact correct model. 5-doors or maybe Accord?

- Pretty proud of this piece! Learned the basics of welding a couple of months ago and kinda found my way with trial and error.

Thanks all! Here're some more pics. The new fenders do fit pretty easy, still don't know if they're original, could be...fine tuning will be done after I'm back from holiday.

Ready for paint!
Compared with the above pics it doesn't look like much is done in the last few weeks, but it's a lot of holiday-ing, sanding, welding, filling, cleaning and so on and so on. Anyway, this Tuesday the car is finally going to CustoMike, the painter! :D Can't wait to see the result..(and to hear what the costs will be  )

Today we went to the paintshop to have a look at the car. So far it's looking very good! Mike has straighten a lot of tiny dents, etc. I'm glad he sees things I've overlooked. This Monday we're going back to choose the exact color. TBC.

And the colour will be.....Volkswagen Hippie Green :D ! Great name for this retro colour! It's also the closest to the green Civic '75 brochure. I did find a '75 colourcode for green (named Cumulus Green), but that's nowhere near the green, pictured in the brochure. Anyway, I'm very happy that it's also an existing colour (can be handy when there's any damage in the future). TBC!

My painter got the colour card of the Volkswagen. He did also mix a green that was very close to this one, but I liked this Hippie Green more.
Btw, I don't think there are side skirts on the Civic from the brochure. Think it's cause of the fact the Civics in this brochure were probably filled in with colour after the photos were taken. At least, that's what my painter thinks.
