Shaving Hatch Latch Lock

Post by anthonydarling »

So I'm coming close to finishing my bodywork, and have decided to shave the hatch latch. I'm going to use this kit
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Power-Tru ... tabcontent
only $15 and I'll be able to open the hatch with the push of a button 8)

I'm just doing the hatch, and leaving the regular door handles (I've kind of grown akin to them...)
So if the battery dies and I can't open the hatch...no worries

So did you end up doing it? Would like to know how it went.

Agreed the Chrome door handles and Fingle hatch are great but the shaved look neatens are car up as well...

I did do it, It turned out good. I've just been real busy lately so I haven't posted a whole lot. The car will be painted in Summit Racing's hot rod black in a couple weeks :D
still needs a tad bit more blocking and sanding

this is just a teaser... it will be completely reassembled on Friday. being my first paint job, I think it turned out pretty good. Hot Rod Black from Summit looks pretty good on these cars.

Looking good!

Had you thought about shaving the gas door latch and installing a newer, say 3rd gen remote release cable? Has anyone done this? I must admit, it seems like it would be a lot of work for the benefit. But still cool 8) !

I bought my mirrors from speedway motors

I like em' because
-they're small
-I have two now
-and they just clamp on to the window frame, so you can take them off whenever you want...
I'll get more pictures up soon

Where did you get those chrome weather strips at the base of the windows from? Are they a stock item?
