The 76-79 civic 5-speeds are a good easy installatioin for what you like to do , with the stock engine. The 5th gear is great for Fwy cruising and the 4th will pull the hills when you get to them. There is a transmission chart on the site that lists all the ratios, ... I just can't find it right now :roll: -someone will no doubt post it for you...

Bill, if I go with the 75 flat pistons to bump up compression, will the engine still run on regular or will it need premium gas? How much of a bump is it?username wrote:Going with the 1600 and bump the compression a little and you will have a great running little car that will run on pump gas.!
