we have this model of car, with the same problem, we ended up fitting another new off- on , switch which seems to have fixed it we ran both wires(-&+)from coil to switch.we originally thought of fuel pump,fuel filter,& made no difference after changing.a bit of a so when the car splutters
& stops as the lights turn green.
also check to see that the balast resistor(pocelain block) behind the coil is in one piece also check to see that the coiled wire that runs along the back of it is not broken. hope this helps,will be interested to know how you get on.
