I found this is in the archives- "the Triumph Acclaim has the kleins carbies and the 5 speed you need for your 1200".
Does anyone know if this is right, is the triumph box a straight bolt-on, and are they here in Australia at all?
I bought a 75 civic today but it has an auto trans so I want to put a 5 speed in it.
Hey ROotus I got my seats after all (sheep too) for a hundred bucks and they came with a whole car. Its not mint though, bad luck about your deal falling thru

No they weren't sold here. Just bolt in a 5-speed from an EN1 Civic. All I'll say is it's a straight bolt in and there has been more than enough discussion on how to do it.

Thanks, I've already done a conversion on my civic using an EN1 gearbox, it was just as a matter of interest really.
Adrian are the driveshafts different between 1200 automatics and manuals?

I've never noticed a difference. The only difference I've ever seen with EB driveshafts is the early models 74-75ish use a small diameter left shaft and later models use a larger diameter shaft. Makes no difference if manual or semi-auto.

Front axles from the wagons appear to be heavier duty.

Speaking of driveshafts, has anyone removed the outer CV from an EN1 driveshaft before? I was trying to do this on the weekend, and the little buggers won't come off. The EB ones came off no problem, but the EN1s seem to be very reluctant.
