I have a 78 civic 1200 that just died on me.
It's got no oil pressure,i pulled the valve cover
off and there is a slight silvery color in oil.
I only had it running a few minutes after noticing
the lack of oil press.I work in a honda dealership
so getting parts isn't a problem.the problem is, I only bought it as winter beater(I also have a 92 civic that is my baby and show car)but I have now fallen in love with it and don't know what to do,fix it or sell it?
i know of a 83ish civic for sale near me and was wondering if i could swap in the engine and 5-speed as i have a hondamatic now. is it worth it.
if sell would anyone be interested in it as i would like it to go to a good home,i'm in burlington, ont canada

It is an easy fix. Basically it is your oil pump drive, the teeth wear off the cam and on the oil pump drive cog. When you take off your rocker cover/valve cover pull the 2 bolts off the little alloy cover in the middle of the valvetrain, and take off that cap. Underneath you will find the mangled remains of your oil pump drive.

If you get second hand parts make sure the cam and the oil pump drive cog come out of the same engine. Otherwise wear patterns are different and it will happen again.

Should be an hour or so job.
