It mounts on the end of the camshaft. A hole is drilled and tapped in the end of the camshaft. How do I know? I sent Marc a PM and he told me. :)

This distributor would make my fuel injection conversion waaay simpler, and enable me to retain my MSD ignition module. The MegaSquirt ECU could still control the ignition timing too.

Distributor drives off of an adapter mated to the end of the camshaft by an allen bolt. The twin Mikuni manifold is not like yours- it looks to be a custom/homebuilt piece with no identifiable markings. The 1980s SCCA GT series replaced the A, B, C, and D Sedan series of the 1970s, and featured more liberal rules that encouraged a lot of innovation and custom engineering. The motor was built by the previous owner, who had built all of his own motors over 20+ years of GT5 racing. General specs include 12.5:1 compression, wild camshaft with radically ported head, adjustable camshaft pulley, underdrive crank pulley and no alternator, 4 into1 header, 7.5 quart baffled oil pan, four speed transmission with weld diff. Overall, 30 years of race engineering and development in a snazzy little package. I am looking forward into getting it race prepped for next spring.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the pics of the car, looks like a lot of people also like it :D

I do remember seeing this car run at the runoffs in Mid Ohio Sportscar Course in the 90's when I was helping my engine builder, he had 6 engines there that year in four cars. (ok for some of you that might not get that, two cars had replacement engines  )

Jim and his wife were nice people, didn’t say a whole lot, went over and gave a hand adjusting something don’t remember what but I did work on the car even though very little.

Cool glad to see this car again!

Let me know if you might need some high performance parts, hard engine parts that is. No carburetor, sorry :( or if you might want some pointers on getting it lower, always thought the car sat too high :)

Adjustment of timing is simple- there is a hose clamp at the base of the distributor as it goes into a sleeve holding it in place. I try to post a picture of the manifold and distributor later this week.
