Getting my 1200 civic back on the road and the choke cable broke right at the handle. Finding a replacement isn't easy and the original one with the electric release thing etc was a pain. Anyway, I was able to find one for an MGB that has a twist lock function that fits the hole in the dash perfectly and looks close to the OE one but functions better. The carburetor linkage was modified years ago (The original cable broke at the carburetor end and I just shortened it and adapted a barrel nut thingie..) And this MGB cable works perfect. See pictures for more details. The only downside is the choke "only" closes about 3/4 of the way, which IMHO isn't a bad thing as these cars don't require full choke to start, pump the gas once or twice primes it fine.

That looks like a nice fit, I don't recall them being that great in the first place.
Mine the knob is broken off and what left to pull on is the screw. I have to hold it while it warms up a bit.
I may have an under powered fuel pump.
Did you get the MGB cable off on line auctions or from one of those popular sites in the UK?

Besides MGB, it is worth considering the Triumph range of cars, which have various different styles of knob over the years.
The Triumph Acclaim was of course a licence-built Honda and used a Honda cable with warning switch, sadly none on line at present, I've just checked.
Always state a Triumph car model on e-bay description, this will keep the motorcycles low on the search.

and being off a late-model Mini / Metro should be quite common over here.
It should be long enough to do the job, but I have no way of confirming its suitability for our application, my car is rhd so that doesn't help either.
If someone will measure a US-market [lhd] cable, I will phone a couple of parts places and see if I can get a good length match, and possible supply line.
Obviously we all would prefer a Honda part, but over here we have had to substitute from the early 80s and parts were not available either in dealers or yards.
