The reason I bought a 1st gen Civic was because Dom DeLuise played Victor Prinzi, a.k.a. "Captain Chaos” in the original Cannonball Run movie. I have now the only 1st gen Civic to go from the Redball Garage in manhattan New York to the portofino inn in redondo beach California. Our team of two drivers drove 2,817 miles in 43 hours and 44 minutes. Was not the fastest but did win an award for having the most cojones.

I don't think I have even put that kind of mileage on my Civic since I bought it back in 2000.
