Randy, like I said before (I'm pretty sure I did...maybe) reading your update threads motivates me to keep up on my maintenance/ upgrades on my cars!

Cleaned up the drivers side wheel well and found some nasty rot that needs repairing, prepared the engine bay for sand blasting by removing the rusty cable fasteners, fuel filter holder, charcoal bracket and the overflow bracket. The Air chisel whent through the firewall trying to get the canister bracket off, its hard to see where the spot welds are I drill or so I thought I drilled them all out. It’s an easy fix.
Cleaned the garage today to get things ready for the sand storm this week.

Just when you think ...... then it happens, surprise anther nasty. I thought starting in the engine bay would make an easy start. Nope, I stewed over it last night the thought of ripping open the inner wheel well.
I did and it’s rotten, not enough to hold a bumper on or the front cross member.
I was going to use the front cross member mount to tilt the car on its side, it will have to wait. Seems the metal is thicker in the front, either 19 or 20 gauge.

I bought a set of these, they come in handy with the different sizes for knocking dents and gouges out of the sheet metal.

One of the normal wide chisels I put on the belt sander and made it razor sharp. I used it to take out a tree root ball that kept growing back after the tree was cut down two years ago. Cuts like butter through wood.

It’s amazing what you can manage with modifications to tools you already own.
Here I used a Dremmel cut off tool for taking the undercoating off, I mentioned this in a previous post.

This crusty bit is what’s left of the battery tray, really rusty and it was protecting an area of crust. So it had to go.
