Finally the armrest is spot welded together and I cut down the back of the console level now. I will be attaching the hinge to a piece to be attached to the underside of the armrest to conceal the seam in the upholstery.

Re: Restoration: The console
Not much done but there is a major transformation in the overall look. I stripped off all the gooey from the sides and top with a wire wheel on my mini grinder.
Still waiting on a computer, the replacement I purchased from another company and they sent the wrong computer, not cd dvd rom drive to restore files. It’s a sim drive and HP wants a lot of cash. So I found anther computer from the same company also refurbished exactly the same a the one I had that died.
I can just swap out the drives and things should be golden.
I did not realize I spent too much time slouched over it and messed up my neck. So I have taken time off from everything.Still waiting on a computer, the replacement I purchased from another company and they sent the wrong computer, not cd dvd rom drive to restore files. Re: Restoration: The console
Here is it almost finished for now until I can get some filler on it.
I should get back to the rocker panel now and I started practicing using the TIG welder tonight on some scraps, does a nice clean job but very slow.

Re: Restoration: The console
Had a mishap in the garage, the console was sitting on the roof of the car when an extension cord dragged it off the roof and onto the floor pushing in one of the sides. I recently bought material to cover it after putting a bit of filler in.
The console had developed a lot of rust on the surface sitting so long in a damp basement.
I hope to get it straightened out soon and ready for priming in the spring.
